Hospital
Hospital Ministry provides spiritual care to patients in hospitals. The Hospital Chaplain administers the following Sacraments: Anointing of the Sick, Holy Eucharist, Reconciliation and Baptism. The Chaplain may be reached 24 hours a day through the hospital's Spiritual Ministry Department.
The mission of hospital ministry is to be a channel of grace to bring the healing power of God to patients and other persons visited at hospitals in the diocese of Peterborough. We do this by direct visitation, sacramental ministry, prayer, compassionate presence, counsel and referral.
Requests for Hospital Visitations
If you want yourself or a loved one to be visited by a Catholic chaplain or lay parish hospital visitor while you are in the hospital, you must list your religious preference and designate your desire for a visit. If the patient is incapacitated or otherwise unable to speak for themselves in this matter, the person registering them can make the designation.
